Kids in the Village l Kindergarten l

Leakena.jpgHi, my name is Lakena. I am 14 years old. I study in grade 8. I have two brothers and I am the second child in the family. I live in Ompov Prey Village, Chormbork Commune, Svay Chrum District, Svay Rieng Province. My parents does not believe in God and now they work in the factory in the city with my elder brother.
My responsibility is to look after the house and my younger brother. My school is 2.5 km from home, but the road is so difficult, because in rainy season it is so sticky and slippery, and in summer it is very dusty. Every morning, I wake up at 4am, to clean the house and cook food for myself and my brother, and go to school at 5:30am because I start my part time class from 6am to 6:50am, then school starts at 7am. It takes about half an hour to walk from my house to school.
In my free time, on Saturday afternoon and the whole Sunday, people would hire me to sow, plant or harvest the rice. They would give me $2.5 for one whole day. I try to save that money from week to week to buy school materials for myself and for my brother, for part time class fee, and buy some ducklings too. Last year, I bought 10 ducklings and hope to raise them up well, then sell them so I could have some money to buy things needed.
Nowadays, only 5 ducks left because some died. On Wednesday, 15th, October, 2014. We lost 2 ducks and one of them laid some eggs already. I was so regretful and thought they might be stolen or died somewhere. My younger brother and I went and look for them and had no clue. We came back home and prayed. Days and nights we prayed, three days later both of them came back home with strings on their feet. They were stolen and tied up.

Thanks God for bringing them back safely. God takes the time to keep up with how many hairs we have—now that’s a God of detail!

Encouragement Verse:
Luke 12:7 says, “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
